I have always admired DiCaprio in just about every role he’s done. From Arnie Grape to Teddy Daniels you cannot deny that he is a very talented actor. I wouldn’t say his latest role as Cobb was any kind of a stretch for him but he quickly becomes a character that you are very intrigued with. Cobb and his partners do something very interesting; they delve into our dreams with us and gather information from our minds while we sleep. See I’ve got you hooked already.
The cast was unique and very well put together. Lately I’ve only seen Joseph Gordon-Levitt in smaller indie roles so I was very happy to see him in a big blockbuster hit (he deserves the paycheck!). And Ellen Paige really surprised me in her role as Ariadne. Honestly if you hear Ellen Paige and immediately jump to Juno, just forget about it. Even the smaller supporting cast roles really helped make this movie a very unique and great experience.
While watching the movie the plot takes so many twists and turns you really have no idea what to think once it’s over. Literally, I’m not sure what happened and I’m probably not doing this review justice without seeing it twice but I’m on a budget so you’ll have to deal. The amount of time that went into this script must have been astounding, I could never imagine such a complex and unique environment myself. While I was confused by the end of the movie I was also shocked that the film maker had managed to do what very few movies have lately, it surprised me. I had a hunch of where the movie could go but even knowing the right hunch they still managed to throw me for a loop with their ending.
This movie stands out to everybody for what they will say is their own reason, but what it really boils down to is that it’s unique, and we don’t get enough of that nowadays. If you saw Avatar and thought “OMG BORING TOTALLY SAW IT COMING YO!” then go see this movie and bring you’re Advil, because you’ll certainly need it.
Bonus Fact! This movie currently sits at #4 on IMdB’s list of movies. So if my review isn’t enough to convince you to go see this film just trust the opinion of 160,000 other strangers.
I started this blog to share my views on movies new and old. I will cover a large variety of films from action adventure to romance to horror. The only thing you're not likely to see are foreign films being as I have a hard time getting into them (although there are a few that I'll cover). I don't use a rating system being as I just want to share my opinions and at the end of every blog I will share who I would recommend or don't recommend a film for. Thanks for reading!

Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World (2010)
Last night I decided to go see this just on a whim. I even went to the shitty theater right down the street because I wasn’t expecting much from the film. I’ve never been a huge fan of Michael Cera, he always seems to play the same character, and it’s a character I’ve ever liked all that much.
So with that being said let me say this: Holy crap! I could not have been more surprised by this movie! Easily the best Cera film I’ve seen, not only that but one of the best films I’ve seen all year. The cast was simply amazing and Cera absolutely stole the lead.
The plot really made this film unique, we’ve all seen those love movies where a man "fights for his lover" but this movie took that to a whole other level. Scott Pilgrim is forced to fight 7 Evil Exes to gain the right to date the girl of his dreams. I know that’s nothing that a trailer hadn’t told you already but I just need to push the fact that it is a truly unique and extremely entertaining film. I went in with below average expectations just trying to get out for the night and came home with a new addition to my Blu Ray collection. The on screen noises (like you see in a comic strip) really added to this movie too, if you think that they may get cheesy I was on the same boat, but I have to give it to the film makers they worked in the "noises" perfectly.
I don't want to reveal too many plot points and possibly turn anybody away from seeing this movie so I'm going to end this right here. I have to recommend this film to anybody reading this review, if you like movies, go give Scott Pilgrim vs. the World a shot and let me know what you think!
